LOCAL SHORTS
Local Shorts Film Club is a unique film club, showcasing short films from Birmingham and across the West-Midlands, both by established professionals and by up and coming newcomers, covering all genres from drama, animation, comedy and documentary to pop videos, artists' video and experimental films.
In its first year of existence, Local Shorts Film Club ran monthly and put more than 120 local short films on the big screen at the Library Theatre (Central Library Birmingham), giving the filmmakers a unique opportunity to show their films in a non-competitive, supportive setting.
As well as viewing excellent, witty and amazing short films, the audiences also enjoyed the informal Q & A sessions with filmmakers, actors and other crew/cast as well as insightful talks by guest speakers
The evenings are (loosely) themed, are free of charge and take place every three months at the Library Theatre in Central Birmingham. Bar opens at 6pm. Films and Q&A from 7pm. This is the only cinema in the region where you are allowed to take drinks inside.
